World Cultures & Religions in Portugal

COURSE OVERVIEW

Explore the rich history, culture, and religious heritage of Portugal while earning a high school credit in World Cultures or World Religions. Travel through Lisbon, Porto, and surrounding regions as you discover how faith, tradition, and cultural exchange have shaped Portuguese society and influenced the wider world.

Throughout the program, students will visit historic monasteries, mosques, synagogues, and cultural landmarks that reflect centuries of religious diversity and global connections. Through guided experiences and immersive learning, students will examine major world religions, including Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, while exploring the relationship between culture, spirituality, and identity.

By engaging with Portugal’s remarkable cultural heritage firsthand, students will develop global awareness, critical thinking skills, and a deeper appreciation for the diversity of beliefs and traditions that shape our world.
