World Cultures & Religions in Portugal

COURSE OVERVIEW

Explore Portugal through the lens of World Religions and World Cultures on an immersive educational journey that brings classroom learning to life. Travel across historic cities and cultural landmarks as you examine how faith, tradition, and history have shaped societies and influenced global connections.

Students will visit Lisbon, Porto, and surrounding regions, exploring iconic sites such as monasteries, mosques, synagogues, and neighbourhoods that reflect centuries of cultural exchange and religious diversity. Through guided experiences and on-site learning, students will deepen their understanding of major world religions—including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and other belief systems—while also examining how culture and spirituality intersect in a modern global context.

This program blends experiential learning with meaningful cultural discovery, offering students the opportunity to engage with world religions in authentic settings while developing global awareness, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity.
