Travel from San José to the Caribbean coast as you discover diverse ecosystems and encounter wildlife including sloths, monkeys, hummingbirds, reptiles, and countless other species. Through hands-on field experiences, students will examine how conservation, resource management, and sustainable practices help protect Costa Rica’s remarkable natural environment.

Explore one of Costa Rica’s most famous active volcanoes and learn how volcanic activity has shaped the country’s landscapes and ecosystems.
Experience the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall while exploring the tropical rainforest and the rich biodiversity that surrounds it.
Discover how Costa Rican farmers use sustainable agriculture and resource management practices to protect the environment and support local communities.
Learn about one of Costa Rica’s most important agricultural industries and examine the environmental and economic impacts of pineapple production.
Relax on Costa Rica’s beautiful Caribbean coast while observing the coastal ecosystems and natural environments that make this country a global biodiversity hotspot.
Parents, students and teachers meet in the morning to review travel expectations and the itinerary. Teachers and students meet in the afternoon for their first class and to work on introductory assignments.
Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.
Teachers and students will interact in mandatory online classes as students participate in direct teaching, group activities, discussions and presentations.
