COURSE OVERVIEW

Discover the culture, history, and traditions behind some of the world’s most celebrated cuisines on a culinary adventure through London and Paris. From historic food markets and artisanal bakeries in London to charming neighbourhood cafés and classic French patisseries, students will explore how food and culture reflect the identity and traditions of each destination.

Through hands-on experiences, guided tastings, and visits to local food destinations, students will learn about British and French cuisine while discovering the connections between food, culture and community. This unforgettable journey offers a unique experiential learning opportunity to explore two of the world’s greatest food capitals through a global culinary lens.

BOROUGH MARKET FOOD TOUR

Explore London’s historic food market and sample local flavours while learning how food, trade, and diverse communities have shaped the city’s culinary scene.

MANDATORY DATES

  • Online Orientation and First Class

    10:00 am - 3:00 pm




  • Parents, students and teachers meet in the morning to review travel expectations and the itinerary. Teachers and students meet in the afternoon for their first class and to work on introductory assignments.

  • Independent Learning Online

  • February 7 - 19




  • Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.

  • Pre-Trip Online Classes

  • February 20, 27, and March 6
    (9:00 am - 3:30 pm) (synchronous)


  • Teachers and students will interact in mandatory online classes as students participate in direct teaching, group activities, discussions and presentations.

  • Travel

  • March 13 - 21





  • Experience the course firsthand and make real-world applications.

  • Post-Trip Online Classes

  • April 3
    9:00 am - 12:00 pm (synchronous)
    and April 10
    (asynchronous)

  • Teachers are available to answer any questions during designated hours while students complete their summative assignment
