COURSE OVERVIEW
Experience how one of the world’s most diverse cities navigates religion in daily life. You’ll engage directly with New Yorkers from different backgrounds, visiting sacred spaces and community organizations to understand how faith shapes the city’s identity. Powerful visits to the United Nations and 9/11 Memorial & Museum will reveal religion’s impact on global affairs.
Evenings bring cultural immersion through Harlem’s legendary Apollo Theater and other authentic New York experiences that showcase how art and belief intersect in this multicultural metropolis.

BROADWAY
SHOW
No trip to NYC is complete without a spectacular Broadway performance!

CATHEDRAL OF SAINT JOHN THE DIVINE
Visit the world’s sixth largest church building.

Temple Emanu-El Synagogue
One of the world’s largest synagogues, this iconic Reform Jewish landmark on Fifth Avenue dazzles with its grand Romanesque architecture, stunning stained glass, and serene sanctuary. Explore its rich history, cultural events, and museum. A spiritual and architectural treasure on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

HINDU TEMPLE SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA
Travel to the Ganesh Temple for a lesson on Hinduism.

UNITED NATIONS
Students visit the UN Headquarters focusing on tolerance and peacekeeping.

Parents, students and teachers meet in the afternoon to review travel expectations and the itinerary.

(approx. 10 hours)*in total to be completed at any convenient time of the student’s choice
Independent Learning Online
Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.

Teachers and students will interact online as students participate in direct teaching, group activities, discussions and presentations.

Travel
Experience the course firsthand and make real-world applications.
