COURSE OVERVIEW
Our course begins in San Francisco, where we take in the Bohemian vibes of The Beat Museum, City Lights Bookshop, and the legendary Haight-Ashbury neighbourhood. On our road trip down the scenic coast, we will stop in booming Silicon Valley, quaint Salinas, picturesque Pismo Beach, sandy Santa Barbara, and star-studded Los Angeles.
Once in LA we visit all the top spots, from UCLA to Hollywood Boulevard, Rodeo Drive to the Griffith Observatory. Expand your worldview with visits to the Museum of Tolerance and Homeboy Industries and learn more about the place where stories come to life!

THE BEAT MUSEUM
Find inspiration for your poetry assignment at the home
of the Beatniks.
ALCATRAZ TOUR
Take a boat ride and tour of the infamous prison island.
WARNER BRO’S STUDIO
Students visit their favourite sets and see where the magic happens.
NATIONAL STEINBECK CENTER
Learn about the influential California author that wrote
our course novels.

Online Orientation and First Class
Parents, students and teachers meet in the morning to review travel expectations and the itinerary. Teachers and students meet in the afternoon for their first class and to work on introductory assignments.

Independent Learning Online
Students will work independently to complete and submit assignments. Teachers will be available to answer questions through the online platform.
