Civics And Careers – Ottawa Region
COURSE OVERVIEW
Civics & Citizenship and Career Studies come alive as students travel to Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara Falls and New York City! Students learn the role Canada plays in an increasingly interconnected global community and start building their own personal definition of “citizenship.” From Parliament to the United Nations, students see how their career choice can allow them to have a meaningful impact on the world.
Students will write campaign speeches, enact dramatizations about Canadian civics, explore the field of photojournalism, and get firsthand experience in financial literacy. Nights are filled with fun events that include a dance party in Niagara Falls and a Broadway show in NYC!
